The course aims to give practising or potential team leaders the foundation for their formal development in this role.  The qualification does this by developing basic team leading skills and assisting participants in gaining the basic knowledge required at this level.

This course gives you an overview of some of the essential knowledge and skills to be able to lead a team.  Existing team leaders will have the opportunity to enhance their leadership skills in order to facilitate working to deadlines thus improving productivity.

This qualification consists of one mandatory subject (Developing Yourself as a Team Leader) and 2 other credits from a wide range of options.

All registered candidates automatically become studying members of the ILM for one year, free of charge, and can enjoy a range of member benefits accessible through the ILM website.

Training is Cardonald College Glasgow or at employees’ own premises. We can be as flexible as you wish for groups of staff - day or evening courses are possible, tailored to suit your company's requirements.

After successful completion of this course, you may progress to the Level 2 Certificate in Team Leading, or to the Level 3 Award in First Line Management.

Please note the full price of this course is £250, if eligible for ILA funding the cost is £50.

Entry requirements

No formal qualifications are necessary if you have the relevant management experience, or are working towards gaining a management role.
