This course is designed for individuals in health and social care sectors who are in a supervisory position. You would benefit if you work as a senior care worker; senior support worker; senior day care worker in services for older people; in mental health, home care and housing support.

For registration purposes the SSSC currently defines the role of supervisor in care home services for adults as "...workers who have responsibilities for supervising staff and for overseeing and monitoring the implementation of care plans." The role of supervisor in housing support services is defined as "…workers who have responsibility for the supervision of other workers."

The course is designed to provide delegates with the skills, knowledge and understanding required in supervising workers in the monitoring and implementation of care plans. The content includes a combination of reading, research and practice-based learning, all of which are assessed through examples generated by real work experience, so delivery can be very flexible and participants have the opportunity to study - at a time and place which suits them.
