This course aims to promote training in allergy awareness. It is designed on the principle that the greater number of care workers with direct or indirect patient/client contact who have an understanding of allergy awareness, the greater the chance of promoting competence and understanding.
Course content
- Impact of food allergy
- Food sensitivity/intolerance
- Stages of food allergy
- Symptoms, severe reactions and allergic emergencies
- Which foods cause problems
- Controls.
The course is aimed at anyone who provides a care service, however minimal the contact, including childminders; nursery staff; care workers; hospital staff; bar, restaurant and retail staff; janitorial staff; beauty and holistic therapists.
