COSHH is a legal requirement for each employer to control substances that are hazardous to health. Most businesses use substances, or products that are mixtures of substances. These substances could cause harm to employees, contractors and other people.

Using chemicals or other hazardous substances at work can put people's health at risk, causing diseases including asthma, dermatitis or cancer.

Course includes:

  • Finding out what the health hazards are
  • Deciding how to prevent harm to health
  • Providing control measures to reduce harm to health
  • Making sure they are used
  • Keeping all control measures in good working order
  • Providing information, instruction and training for employees and others
  • Providing monitoring and health surveillance in appropriate cases
  • Planning for emergencies.

This course is aimed at construction staff involved in health and safety or those looking to gain more experience for job opportunities. You can progress onto other Health and Safety short courses.

Cost: £150 (80% discount if previously booked on to IOSH course)
