Paediatric 'Emergency First Aid' Certificate, valid for three years.
The course covers all relevant areas of first aid, as required by SCSWIS and other relevant bodies. The award would be beneficial to candidates seeking employment in the child care sector, for example nurseries.
Course content includes:
- Assessment of danger in the home and nursery
- Anatomical difference between children and adults
- Shock
- Basic life support including CPR and recovery position
- Airway disorders
- Hypothermia
- Burns and Scalds
- Bleeding and bandaging
- Fractures and soft tissue injuries
- Miscellaneous conditions.
Duration: 6 Hours (9.00am to 4.00pm or 6.00pm to 9.00pm)
Cost: £80 (day) or £70 (evening)
