This Health & Safety Executive (HSE)-approved course covers the practical skills needed by a first aider in the modern workplace, or anyone wanting a comprehensive introduction to first aid. The course will give you the confidence and knowledge to deal with first aid emergencies in the workplace.
Topics covered include:
- Accidents and illness
- Using a first aid kit
- Simple record keeping
- Treatment of an unconscious casualty
- Heart attacks
- Resuscitation
- Eye injuries
- Bleeding
- Choking
- Burns and scalds
- Fractures
- Seizures
- Severe allergic reaction.
Successful students can gain further skills in the specialised areas of treatment, including Anaphylactic Shock, Advanced Resuscitation, Sports Injuries.
